It's a fact: the justice system is unfair to Black citizens, and reading books about street life is one of the first steps that you can take to better understand the realities of the prison system in the United States. It can be easy to turn a blind eye to street life stories, especially if you grew up in an area where going to jail and/ or prison was not a common occurrence.
